Success . . . kind of

We had another visit with Santa today on this very cold and snowy day.  A huge sporting goods store, Bass Pro Shop, was hosting a Santa’s Wonderland, where they had lots of fun, free stuff set up for the kids.  Tanner had seen the commercials for this event and wanted to go soooooo badly so we called Nana and Papa to meet us and braved the cold to go check it out!

We first made a stop to see good ol’ Kris Kringle!  And – success – both kids in the picture!  Poor Brynn was crying the whole time, hopefully this visit won’t cost me in therapy bills for her later!

Tanner reconfirmed with Santa from yesterday’s visit that he still wanted the Lego Gunship set.  I told him to mention to Santa that his mommy has been really good this year, but I don’t think he followed through with the plan.

And then we made it to the “laser” BB guns!  This was pretty much the whole reason Tanner wanted to come.  He had seen these on the commercial and had to try them out.  Thank goodness Papa was there to help him out as Don and I are not the hunting/fishing type!  Tanner was very, very excited and thankfully only mentioned once that he would like one (the ones in the store were laser, the ones you bought were real BB guns) and then let it go, good thing because he would not be getting one under the Christmas tree – he could shoot his eye out!  I know I’m not a nice mommy!

Tanner also enjoyed driving the remote control trucks

But the best part was the snowball fight!  They had this big covered tent set up with soft, puffy “snowballs” inside and the kids got in and just pummeled each other with snowballs.  Tanner had a blast and Brynn was hilarious running around like crazy and every once in a while picking up a snowball and throwing it about 2 inches.  It was so funny to watch.

Unfortunately the pictures did not turn out very well through the net!

Tanner and Brynn also loved checking out the huge fish tanks they have inside and all the real “stuffed” wild animals they have throughout the store.  We had a good time!  Afterwards we went to a yummy Barbeque place for dinner where Brynn had a complete meltdown – it’s so much fun eating out with a one year old!

Well I think we can officially check visiting Santa off of our list for this Christmas season!

The news is talking about another 6-12 inches of snow for tomorrow, temperatures in the single digits and possible school closures . . . do we dare get our hopes up????
