Disney Surprise!

A couple months ago we planned a trip to Disneyland for the Tanner and Brynn (I have a rule about Disney - no diapers and no strollers, so sadly Avery and Carter could not attend this time!  But don’t worry they were in very good hands and we will take them as soon as they are potty trained and can walk a few miles on their own!)  Anyway, like I was saying I had been itching for a trip and one of my bucket list items was to see Disney decorated at Christmas.   It just so happened that Brynn is totally into Disney princesses right now and Tanner is still all Star Wars and I happened to find some great airline and hotel rates so a December trip to Disney was in the works!  It was very hard to keep it a surprise for the kids and even harder to decide how to surprise them!  We decided to surprise them right before we needed to leave.  So On the day we were leaving it was a late start morning for school.  I went to school like normal and Tanner stayed home thinking that I was going to come back and pick him up for school.  When I got home about 10:00 a.m. I left a big present on the doorstep, rang the doorbell and ran back inside the house through the garage.  Tanner and Brynn opened the door and found this.

Of course they wanted to open it right away!  Inside they found 5 small boxes with numbers on them.  We told them to open them in order and in each box was a word.  This is what they spelled.

Brynn really had no idea what was going on, she was just really excited and Tanner was just really confused.  He was asking, “Are we going this summer?”  and we said “No, we are going right now!”  and he was like “but how are we getting there,  we don’t have anything packed.”
We finally told Tanner to go look in the car and there he saw our suitcases and then he got a little crazy!  It was so much fun to surprise them!
And we really did leave right then!  Our amazing babysitter came to watch Avery and Carter (it was very sad to leave them, they both knew something fun was going on!)  I promised them that we would take them someday too and bring them back a surprise! And we were off to the airport!

This was Brynn’s third time on a plane, but the first time that she got her own seat!  She loved it! They were both so cute holding their Mickey and Minnie doll they got as part of the surprise!

And we made it!  We got in late afternoon, checked into our hotel which was very conveniently right across the street.  We could not have gotten any closer to Disney.  That was awesome!  We spent the afternoon/evening walking around Downtown Disney.

They have a HUGE Lego store that Tanner feel absolutely in love with!

For dinner we went to the Rainforest CafĂ©.  I knew they would both love all the animals.  Especially Brynn!

We went to bed early as we knew the next 3 nights were going to be very late nights.  Of course the kids were too excited to do much sleeping!  Tanner and Brynn were soooooo excited looking at the map and planning out what they wanted to do the next day at Disney!
