What a 4th!

We had a great 4th of July!   We first went to church where Brynn got kicked out of  her child care class. Okay she didn’t really get kicked out, it was more like she wouldn’t stop crying so her teacher came and pulled me out of service to get her and then she wouldn’t go back into the service with me.  She said it was too dark and scary – what???  So Brynn and I hung out in the hall and then about 10 minutes later Don and Carter joined us in the hall because Carter was fussing.  So Don and I did our own praying in the hallway and it went something like “Dear God please let us survive the next 5 years!”  HA!  After church we went home and got ready to see our hometown parade.  There is just nothing like small town parades.  You see all your friends and neighbors, the kids get lots of candy and goodies and we only have to drive about 5 minutes down the road.  Great fun!

Tanner got so much candy he was using his shirt to hold it all, but it was hard to pick up more candy while holding your shirt so then he got smart and took off his hat and put all his goods in there!

Brynn perfected her Miss America wave!  She was hilarious waving at everyone in the parade.  She had a good time!

Carter slept through his first parade!  He is so stinkin’ cute!  The picture of Don and Brynn holding hands is one of my new favorite pictures.

Look a family portrait!  Tanner has a wad of candy in his mouth and Brynn was really mad that we were making her sit in the stroller instead of run wild in the streets!

So did you notice the totally awesome tie-dye shirts??  Yes – Tanner and I made them yesterday.  I have never tie-dyed before and it was so easy and so much fun.  We are definitely doing it again!

This picture cracks me up.  Carter was so interested in the grass and he kept sticking out his cute little toes to check it out.  Oh how I love these crazy kids of mine!

So after the parade my mom and dad came up and we had dinner and just hung out.  Papa, Don and Tanner went to the park to fly Tanner’s electric airplane, Brynn played dolls and went swinging – of course.  And then we baked yummy cupcakes.

Sometime during all this fun the clouds rolled in and it started to rain,  no big deal – we need the rain and it never rains for long in Colorado.  Well it rained and rained and rained for about 3 hours!  It was crazy.  But we were troopers and still went out the see the fireworks – in the RAIN!  And for the first time ever we watched the fireworks out the car windows.  We did have a nice up close parking spot thankfully.  Brynn seemed so excited for the fireworks as she kept saying “Boom, up high!”  but then when the fireworks started she freaked out and wouldn’t sit on anyone’s lap and only wanted to sit in her car seat.  What a silly girl!  It was a memorable night all around!
