One of the things on our summer fun list was to visit 10 new parks this summer. Well we have made it to 6 parks so far, but today’s park was by far the best. It will be hard to beat. Here is our list of parks so far and what we thought of them!
Park #1: Sports Park in Loveland: We were actually looking for park #6 when we found this park. We were at first bummed we hadn’t found the park we were looking for, but it ended up being a very nice park. Fun equipment and a little pond to explore around. It had a splash park also but we couldn’t get the water to turn on and all the kids at the park were pretty bummed and then Tanner found this button and stepped on it and water started coming out of everywhere. Tanner was the hero – it was really cute! The splash park was really cool, it was based on the wizard of oz so that big metal sculpture turned around and water poured down from the top. Fun, fun, fun but it was overcast so we all got a bit cold after awhile.
Ha! It even looks like tornado weather!
Park #2: Neighborhood Park in Frederick. This was just a little park in a neighborhood. It was nothing special – but a new park! The babysitter took them to so no pictures!
Park #3: Park at Orchard Crossing Mall: Yes this was a play place at an outdoor mall. But hey it had stuff to climb on so it counts. Every park can’t be extra special you know! The kids still had fun and there was water involved so that made it even better!
Park #4: Creekside Park in Longmont: We had driven by this park a couple of times and always wanted to check it out – so we finally did! It was a pretty cool park with a lot of equipment and best of all Left Hand Creek runs through it which means water to wade and throw rocks in. This park also had a really cool play set where you used pulleys to scoop up sand and hoist it up to this tube that you then dumped it down. Tanner loved doing this!
Park #5: Park in Longmont: Our babysitter was really getting into this finding new parks thing so although we have been to most of the parks in Longmont she thought of one that the kids had never been to and brought them there. How cute it that! No pics and I forgot the name of the park!
Park #6: Fairgrounds Park in Loveland. I was determined to find this park I had heard so many great things about and we finally found it. Thank goodness for Google! And it was worth it. What a great park, it had everything!
First there was river you could wade in, this area was a little rough but we walked further down where T and B could wade and throw rocks in. It cracks me up how much fun they have just throwing rocks in water! This was Tanner’s favorite part.
Then there was a great playground with new equipment that we had never seen before and even better a huge covered sandbox! Thankfully I had read on-line about the sandbox and brought some sand toys. This was Brynn’s favorite place by far! This girl loves her sand, we need to live by a beach.
And yes there is more – a splashpark! It was a really nice splashpark with a lot of different water features, but T and B didn’t really play in it all that much. Brynn didn’t want to leave the sandbox and Tanner said he was too cold. Go figure! We have got to get some fat on that boy!
And even Carter joined the fun. Brynn was trying to bury Carter’s feet in the sand, but Carter kept kicking his feet– it was hilarious! And Tanner still continues to be the best big brother ever!
So this park gets a 10/10, the best park we have visited so far! So we have a little over 2 weeks before school starts and 4 more parks to go! Can we do it???
