Last Day of School

last day of school 2

Tanner is now a first grader!   Can you believe it???  First grade is just so. . . big!  He had a wonderful year with a great teacher and great friends and he has learned so much this year!   Tanner’s last couple weeks of school was busy and fun filled.  Here are the highlights!

Tanner’s class “raised” eggs (can you raise eggs??)  Well anyway they played mother hen to 12 eggs and 4 hatched.  Okay, time for true confessions – hopefully Tanner by the time you read this you will understand why your teacher did what she did.  You see out of 12 eggs in your class none of them hatched, there was a problem with the incubator, but in the kindergarten class next door 9 out of the 12 eggs hatched so the kindergarten teachers did a little switch-a-roo and your class adopted 4 of the chicks, well except you all thought they were your own chicks. . . wow this is starting to sound like a soap opera!  Anyway, the important thing is that you loved everything about raising chicks, until you saw how much they pooped and that kind of grossed you out and then you were kind of done with the chicks.  Welcome to fatherhood Tanner and yes there is lots of poop involved in being a father!  Anyway here is you holding your favorite chick, Fluffy.

You also had kindergarten field day.  Ahhhh, yes, the beginning of many end of year field days!  You, of course, had a blast!

And yes, that is wonderful Daddy Don helping out for the day!

And to end the year, you had a kindergarten celebration or “author’s tea” where all the parents were invited to your classroom and your class put on a play, you read us your best writing from the year, we watched a slideshow from the year and ate cookies.  Your favorite part was the cookies of course.
