18 Months!

Eighteen things about Brynn at 18 months!

1.  She has teeth!  Just a month ago she still only had her two bottom front teeth.  She had the least amount of teeth our doctor had ever seen for a 17 month old and I admit I was beginning to worry if she would ever get a full set of teeth and then within 4 short weeks our little girl has gotten 7 new teeth, including 3 of her 4 molars (and the last one is coming in right now)  and her two top teeth – unfortunately her two top teeth has earned her the nickname of  “Bucky!”

2. She still loves to eat!  Especially if it’s something sweet and yummy like an Oreo cookie!

3.  Along with eating Brynn is unusually talented at using a spoon and fork for her age.  She wants to do everything herself these days little Ms. Independent!

4.  We are sporting a new hair do because Brynn finally has lots of hair!    We are doing the one ponytail on top of the head, unicorn look while her bangs grow out.  Mom was just not loving the bangs!  Brynn will still not wear a barrette, bows or any other hair accessories.  She rips it out of her hair within 30 seconds – sigh!

5. Brynn regularly signs more, please, thank you, and all done.  She will even sign “more please” together!  So polite!

6. She says many words like mom, dad, more, water, bug, snow, book, Nanner (Tanner), bye-bye, yeah, no. ba-ba (bottle) and be (paci).  She will repeat many, many more words – especially things that Tanner tells her to say – yes I know that is dangerous!  Her favorite song is Old McDonald Had a Farm.  She signs the E-I-E-I-OOOO part over and over again.  We will hear her singing to herself in her crib in the morning.  It is so precious!  She will also do all the hand motions to the Itsy, Bitsy, Spider.

7. She is just starting to really play with her doll.  She will get a washcloth and “wash” her baby, wrap her doll in a blanket, pretend to feed her with a spoon and give her a pacifier.

8. She is so good as just playing and entertaining herself for 20 minutes or more at a time.  She also loves to play with her Little People Farm and go down her inside slide.  She is very busy now and is getting to be very difficult to photograph because she is always on the go!

9.  She is so good tempered and just “goes with the flow” except for her cranky time from 4:30-6:30 p.m. where she wants to be held and can be very cranky and demanding.  Of course this is also the time that mom is trying to make dinner and help Tanner with his homework and dad is often not home from work!

10. When Brynn is NOT teething she is a GREAT sleeper and sleeps regularly from 7:00 to 6:00ish.  And she is SOOOOO easy to put to sleep.  She needs her pacifier and a stuffed animal to cuddle with.  And we are really bad and still giving her a bottle some nights!

11. Brynn is little Ms. Curiosity!  She will just pull the stool over and climb up to check out what is in a drawer.  She loves to open drawers, boxes, and bags to see what is in them.

12. She LOVES animals!  She points out every dog and cat and we have to watch her closely because she will approach any dog nearby.  She can make all the animal sounds and loves to play with her toy animals and still loves stuffed animals.

13.  Brynn loves books and will just crawl up in the rocking chair in her room and look at books for about 15-20 mins.  Her favorite books are still those that have touchy/feely things on them or flaps to open and animal books.

14.  If the dishwasher is open she is in it or pulling things out of it!

15. Brynn doesn’t just walk or toddle anymore – she can run!  She can also climb and climb she does on everything and anything!

16.  Brynn still loves bugs and whenever we are outside she is looking for a bug.  This really is not something we should encourage but if she sees a bug or we point out a spot that looks like a bug she will step on it and squish it.  It is so funny!  She will even step on a picture of a bug in a book.

17.  Brynn is still a shoe girl and loves putting on her shoes, she doesn’t try on everyone else’s shoes quite as much as she used to. Just recently Brynn has been into trying to put on her clothes and taking them off – especially her diaper!  If you don’t put her pants on right away after you change her diaper you will probably find her running around like this before you know it!

18. And last but not least – Brynn absolutely, completely, totally loves and adores Tanner.  She is just enamored with him and will copy anything he does.  She looks for him anytime he is not in sight and will say “Nanner bye, bye” over and over when we drop him off at school on Mondays.  I love that they love each other so much and that Brynn is now at an age where her and Tanner can really play together. I especially LOVE that Tanner is so good and loving to her 98% of the time! 

We can’t believe you are already one and half years old Brynn!  We love you so much!
