McIntosh Times: Here we go a Camping!

This last weekend it was the annual summer camping trip, well I guess not annual because we didn’t go last year – but then Brynn was just a wee little thing – so almost annual camping trip! Anyway, this year we went to Colorado Campground at Manitou Springs. We were planning on going with just my parents and younger sister but then guess who surprised us at the campsite?? My older sister and her family! They had driven 9 hours all the way from Wyoming to come, can you believe that? Surprises like this is very unlike my sister – I was so proud of her! It was a great camping trip because. . .

We slept in a tent, yes all four of us. This was the first camping trip since Tanner has came along where we haven’t slept in a cabin or motor home. It was fun – well, except the ground feels a lot harder now than it did 7 years ago.

We made a campfire, roasted marshmallows and ate s’mores, YUM!

And got dirty. . .

Went fishing at the lake. . .

And got wet!

Ate some great meals camping style. . .

And got dirty!

Played lots of fun games like jailbreak (I am so out of shape!), lasso golf, cards, battleship, and four corners.

And she was absolutely adorable (and dirty!)

And we can’t forget about the dolphin nest (yes, that was dolphin – we are still in Sea World mode you know!) that the kids built and the animal traps that they made in the woods (but didn’t catch anything thank goodness!)

And no camping trip is complete without playing in the dirt and, you guessed it, getting dirty!

We also hiked, biked, and drove our pink car around the lake. . .

And Brynn had great fun walking around a field and pointing out every bird and bug that she saw. She would point and says “da” for a bird and “buh” for bug. Yep, she’s a cutie and she’s all mine!!!!
